Mannie Fresh Launches New Label Written by Tom Mull  12 September 2009

Hip Hop producer Mannie Fresh's new label, Chubby Boy Records has signed a distribution deal with Deep Entertainment. Manny hopes the business oppurtunities will allow him to share his production talents across several genres, not just Hip Hop.

Deep Entertainment has previously distributed numerous mixtapes. Mannie's first project is likely to be a follow up to his 2004 debut, Inside the Mind of Mannie Fresh, titled Return of the Ballin'.

 
Jay Z Responds to T-Pain Diss Written by Tom Mull  09 September 2009

Jay-Z has responded to T-Pain's comments, who said, "F*ck Jay-Z," during his DJ session at Club Rehab, Las Vegas. T-Pain, who relies heavily on Autotune technology was making his opinions clear on Jay-Z's track, D.O.A. (Death Of Autotune).

When Jay-Z was asked about his opinion on the comments on the Ed Lover Morning Show, Jigga said, "I made it very clear I wasn't talking about him. I think he's talented, I don't think he need Autotune to sell records but if that's his prerogative. D.O.A. was just for conversation."

Ludacris Car Giveaway Written by Tom Mull  08 September 2009

Ludacris has given away 20 cars to needy residents of Atlanta as part of his 'Cash for Clunkers' campaign. Through the Ludacris Foundation, the Grammy award winner held a contest where participants had to write essay about how their car problems prevented them from working.

Ludacris told HuffingtonPost.com, "People are getting laid off and are now looking for jobs. To be efficient, you need some transportation of your own to get there. That's why I wanted to give back to those who need it."

Jay-Z's Blueprint 3 Releases Early Written by Tom Mull  07 September 2009

Jay Z's The Blueprint 3 will be released tomorrow (September 8). The US release date was set for September 11th, exactly eight years to the day of the release of the original Blueprint.

The release has been brought forward due to an online leak. Jay-Z was originally seemed very nonchalant saying, "It's a preview. I'm excited for people to hear the album. I'm very proud of the work I've done so enjoy it."

Doug E. Fresh Embraces Scientology Written by Tom Mull  06 September 2009

Doug E. Fresh has confirmed he has been practicing Scientology for the last 8 years. The legendary Hip Hop artist was introduced to the controversial religion through ex-girlfriend and Hot 97 radio personality, Miss Jones.

The faith was founded in the 1950s by L. Ron Hubbard and the belief is that all humans are immortal through a life source known as theta. Followers are taught to become one with their soul.
