Keri Hilson - Knock You Down Written by KandiApple

While not officially in stores yet, it isn’t hard to make a “pre” review of Keri Hilson’s new album, In A Perfect World. The CD is really leaky, apparently due to delays in the release, but I don’t think these set-backs will affect the success of this album.

Let’s talk about Knock You Down.

Okay, so how often do you find a song that you want to listen to over and over again until you know all of the words and you’ve worn out the carpet in your room? Well I had to replay Keri Hilson’s Knock You Down plenty of times, but not because it was hard to get the groove on, I just like it a lot! The 26-year old singer/songwriter definitely has a hit with this fancy-dancy beat song and clean lyrical track.

The little starlet has written songs for some of the big heavies like Britney Spears, Usher, Ciara and Ludacris. But gaining fame for her own voice has been slow and it seems no one knows why. Let’s not by shy about this, folks, the whole album is good.

In A Perfect World hits the streets March 24.  I think this first studio album for Keri should do well in the great race to the top of the R&B charts. After all, she’s not just good alone, but she duets with the likes of Lil Wayne, Keyshia Cole, Trina , Timbaland, T-Pain, Lil Jon, Ne-Yo and Kanye West, (the latter two heavily contributing to Knock You Down) on the LP.

In a Perfect World might just be the perfect start to Keri Hilson’s singer part of her independent singer/songwriter career.

Go see her at Wet Seal in New York on March 24. She’s is autographing!
