Shyne Realeased From Prison And Deported Written by Tom Mull   29 October 2009

Jamal 'Shyne' Barrow has touched down in Belize after his release from Immigration authorities.

Shyne has returned to his country of birth, where his father os Prime Minister, after serving almost nine years in jail for his involvement in a violent shooting at a night club in 1999 with Sean "Diddy" Combs and ex Jennifer Lopez.

The rapper's uncle and Minister of Housing, Michael Finnigan said, "Shyne is gome. He wants to say how happy he is to be home and a free man. He would love to have a conversation with the media, but because he was legally advised by Professor Ogletree, he must not speak to the media because he doesn't wabt to prejudice his situation with the US government or with the Belize government."

Shyne was taken from holding to the airport in New York and flew to the Central American country where he was welcomed by his family and fans.

The Hip Hop artist has changed his name to Moses Michael Leviy to reflect his conversion to Judaism whilst incarcerated.

He has been given a whole floor at the Radisson Fort George Hotel to give him some privacy until his place at his uncle's house is set up.

His uncle, Finnigan said, "He needs some privacy, he needs not to be around anybody, he needs just to sit down in isolation and contemplate his life. I think that we need to respect that. If you notice, he has lost an extreme amount of weight."

Shyne was set to be released earlier this month but US Customs officials delayed it while they thought over his deportation.

It is expected that he will fight the decision from Belize and work on new music. Other reports suggest he may move to Europe or the Carribean to try and rebuild his recording career.
