US President, Barack Obama, called Kanye West a 'jackass' over the the rapper's behaviour at the VMAs.

The President made the off-the-record comment during an interview CNBC yesterday. ABC's Terry Moran leaked the information via his Twitter page.

Terry Moran commented, "Pres. Obama just called Kanye West a 'jackass' for his outburst at VMAs when Taylor Swift won. Now THAT's presidential."

The comment was deleted immediately and ABC issued an apology, stating, "In the process of reporting on remarks by President Obama that were made during a CNBC interview, ABC News employees prematurely tweeted a portion of those remarks that turned out to be from an off-the-record portion of the interview. This was done before our editorial process had been completed. That was wrong. We apologize to the White House and CNBC and are taking steps to ensure that it will not happen again."

Following the incident where Kanye interrupted Taylor Swift's acceotance speech, the rapper has vowed to take time out away from the limelight. Kanye revealed his intentions in an interview with Jay Leno and provided firther apologies to Taylor, who intends to speak to face to face.
