Police were forced to shut down a New Boyz concert due to fans fighting.
The gig took place at the Genesee Valley Center in Flint, Michigan on Sunday. Promoters had planned for only 300 fans but the free event attracted 1500 supporters.
One eyewitness told The Flint Journal, "Fights broke out. They were grabbing on the singers and wouldn't let them go. One girl had him by the shirt collar...It's sad."
Concert goers were forced into nearby stores as the venue was not capable of holding the mass of people.
Fans had arrived at noon for the show which did not start till 4PM and fights broke out when the performers arrived on stage.
The duo attempted to calm the situation as they were grabbed by female supporters. They momentarily left to allow police to regain control but the situation was just aggravated whenever they reappeared.
Another witness said, "About half the crowd chased them down the hallway. They were going to come back and sign autographs and then another fight broke out right in front of the stage."
The mall was shut down at 4:30 PM, The New Boyz having only performed one song.
The original witness added, "People wonder why we can't get stuff like this in Flint. It's because we don't know how to act."
