Releasing the new track, Welcome To The Light Club, Jin makes it clear that there is a change in subject matter but maintains the lyrical prowess that first brought interest. On his ayojin.com website he describes his new lifestyle choice and describe one show by saying, "did a quick performance, gave a testimony and just enjoyed God's presence."

Amaru Entertainment and Morgan Creek Productions continue to battle over the making of a movie chronicling the life of Tupac Shakur. The dispute is now set for court.
Morgan Creek filed a lawsuit last February accusing Afeni Shakur's (2pac's mother) company of breaching a contract in order to create the film about the legendary rapper.

Cypress Hill have announced the re-launch of their annual 'SmokeOut' event. The festival and "cannabis expo" was launched in 1998 but has not been held for the past six years. The event will be held this October at the San Manuel Ampitheatre in San Bernardino, California.
Highlights of the scheduled performers include a Geto Boys reunion, as well as a return for Cee-lo Green's old group Goodie Mob. Hosted by stoner icons, Cheech & Chong, other acts include Slipknot, Deftones, Redman and Method Man, Afrika Bambaataa and Immortal Technique.

Big L's life will be told in a new documentary called Street Struck: The Big L Story. The Dangerzone Films produced Street Struck chronicles the emcee's story that was cut short when he was shot to death in 1999.
The documentary features views from friends, family and artists such as DJ Premier, to give an insight into the man behind the music. Their is background on the gifted wordsmith's ascent in hip hop and involvement in the collectives, Children of Da Corn and Diggin' In The Crates.
