No longer wheel-chair bound by TV sitcom's, Drake has made quite a name for himself in the music biz. You may remember Drake from the TV show Degrassi, in which he played the character Jimmy. Well Jimmy went from Nickelodean to Young Money, signing a deal with Universal Records putting him under the wings of Lil Wayne. Drake's hit single The Best I Ever Had has made itself comfortable in the #1 spot.

Sources told Billboard, that "It was one of the biggest bidding wars I've ever seen...," to sign Drake. With companies like Warner Music Group (WGM), Universal Motown, and Atlantic Records all trying to sign the next big thing. Drake says he's pleased with how the deal turned out, and that he can't wait to drop his album.

Drake has already teamed up with Lil Wayne, dropping in with another hit called Every Girl. Drake first made a name for himself as an emcee in the MySpace community, consecutively earning himself the title of Most Listened To Artist on MySpace. Recently dubbed the 2010's Most Anticipated Artist, Drake's debut album Thank Me Later will be dropping in Fall of 2009.

"I just really want to keep on making that organic music, I don't want to be pressured into anything...," - Drake

Lil Wayne and Drake will be touring together one last time before this Summer is over, confirmed by Lil Wayne's manager, Cortez Bryant. The tour begins July of 2009, no specific dates/locations have been reported yet. There are rumors floating around about Jay-Z and Young Jeezy possibly touring with them, but it has yet to be confirmed.

Drake is still dealing with an incident that occured during a performance at the House of Blues in Chicago where a fight broke out mid-concert, resulting in the shooting of a 21-Year Old man in the buttocks outisde the club at around 4am. The victim is OK, and was listed in a stable condition shortly after the incident, but the shooter has still yet to be indentified.
