Chris Brown was sentenced to five years probation and six months communtiy service for assaulting his ex-girlfriend, Rihanna.
The decision was heard at Los Angeles Superior Court on Tuesday; Rihanna was not present. Brown was also ordered to stay 100 yards away from the diva unless they were attending music industry events.
The R&B singer will serve his probation in his home state of Virginia where he will have to perform physical labour and take a domestic violence course. He must report regularly to a probation officer in Los Angeles.
It also emerged that the February 8th altercation with Rihanna was not the first of their relationship. Whilst on vacation outside of The States, Brown allegedly shoved Rihanna against a wall after she slapped him during an argument in Barbados. A second incident occured whilst in Europe where Brown smashed the windows of the vehicle they were driving in during another disagreement.
Neither of the incidents were reported however.
Chris Brown continues to work on material for his upcoming album, Graffiti.
